TEGAKI-ness, courtesy of ~acidicness! [link]Boy, does it feel good to be back.
*Takes a deep breath* Okay, long entry ahead. I've separated it into parts to make it easier for the lot of you to read.
Anime Boston...was amazing. xDD I spent the week between my departure from Albany and the date of the con working non-stop. I somehow--SOMEHOW--managed to sew Kaku's tracksuit and Jotaro's outfit in that time. (Liquid Stitch was truly a godsend, though I can't see myself using the stuff as extensively on future projects.) As for Iruka, let's just say that purchasing things has always been one of my few cosplay specialties.
Of course, what's a great con without great company? <3 The well-prepared ~
inudahentai made the trip there and back a real pleasure; ~
Okasi-san, ~
acidicness, ~
Sky-too-high (and her brother), Kiwi, Co, and ~
Tsure proved to be wonderful convention buddies (your
The World Ends With You group was amazing!); and it was great seeing ~
aikei-chan and ~
alchemistofwind after god knows how long.
I saw a lot of really impressive cosplays there, as expected. There were more
Touhou and
Vocaloid cosplayers there than I thought there'd be, but I figured I'd see as many
Soul Eater,
Kuroshitsuji, and
Axis Powers Hetalia cosplays as I did. Yep, aside from the astonishing lack of L cosplayers, everything seemed to be in order. xD
The
One Piece photoshoot I attended on Saturday was incredible, easily the highlight of my weekend! There were so many people--Shichibukai, villains, a Gol D. Roger--why, there must have been ten Zoros with us at some point.
THERE WAS EVEN A CP9 GROUP. @_@ I was
OWNED humbled by their Sanji, Lucci, and Kaku: they
literally looked like clones of the characters themselves. They even had their very own (and very much epic) Franky and Fukurou. ._. It made me wish I brought my Jyabura cosplay to AB. (They didn't actually have one. Go figure.)
I didn't do much at the con itself. I didn't even attend Saturday's Masquerade--cosplay took a lot out of me (and my feet) for some reason. x_x There's always next year, I suppose.
Because my parents told me to use my debit card, I only bought a handful of things in the Dealer's Room this year:
> KakaIru
doujin (DUH),
> A Yukkuri shirt (I'm wearing it right now),
> A Shigure plushie (I promised myself I'd get one), and
>
JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken DVD 1 (which means I now have the entire OVA on DVD)
...I would've liked to get
Touhou 9: Phantasmagoria of the Flower View and
Enzai, too. >>;; Oh well.
Otaku BattleYou heard it here, folks: Otaku Battle's release will go ahead as planned. Though nothing's set in stone, I hope to have the first chapter out by the middle of June. For a general overview of what to expect, refer to the following FAQ. As always, feel free to note me with any questions/concerns/criticism/anything but spam you might have.
Otaku Battle FAQSo... what should
I expect, again? > Much like any series serialized in
Weekly JUMP before it is
raepd! translated by ViZ,
Otaku Battle is full of action and questionable humor; suitable for anyone in Japan over 13 and any American over the age of 16. That being said, people who are uncomfortable with explicit language, excessive violence, and/or adult themes should think twice before reading.
That's all fine and dandy, but what about the teenagers and 'uncomfortable' individuals who insist on reading it? >
Otaku Battle's rating will actually change on a case-by-case basis. One chapter may be PG (13+), the next, AO (18+). If I believe a chapter is too "mature" for its intended audience, I will provide a "clean" (censored) version of that chapter at or around its time of release.
Is Otaku Battle
really going to have yaoi
in it? I'd love to read it, but yaoi
's... well, gross. > Yes, but I'm not going to shove it in your face. If a chapter features characters doing more than just alluding to it, you can just read the "clean" version of that chapter.
Anything else? > Please do not expect me to release chapters on a regular basis; I will not hesitate to delay the release of a new chapter if other commitments (such as school) deem it necessary.
Fan FictionI cosplay both of the guys whose perspectives I plan to write from,
and I still don't feel inspired but I can't find the time to write.
Wonderful. >.<
