T-minus six days until Otakon, and I still haven't finished Hiruma or fixed Jotaro. Woohoo~ [/sarcasm]

For those of you who care, here's how the 15k kiriban's been coming along:

[link]

Again, I like how Jotaro and Train came out. I managed to get Ichigo and Luffy to cooperate (the former proved to be a real biatch), but Gon and Reborn are giving me issues like woah. Contrary to the Artist's Comments, I've started on the lineart and color selection since I took the screencap--if I'm lucky, I'll finish it by summer's end.

On a related note, I finally got my hands on the first thirty episodes of the Saint Seiya anime and am currently regretting taking said world out of Kokoro no Oujisama. It's perfect for Kingdom Hearts: they can't shut up about friendship, memories, and evil for one second! Dx The Four Black Saints remind me of Heartless and/or Nobodies; Ikki's betrayal is reminiscent of Riku's; and Shun is such a woman Seiya is just like Sora. I might have to edit that icon and the kiriban....

Oh, and I'm putting this in my journal because two of my friends had it in theirs:

This is a test to see who's paying attention. This is a test to see how many people in my friends list actually pay attention to me. Copy and repost in your own bulletin. Lets see who the true friends are and I think I know who you are... Repost this if you are a friend...Don't reply... just copy and paste this in a new bulletin as "Fake Friends.'

And with that, I bid you adieu.

Otaku Battle
Um, Otaku Battle's release should be going ahead as planned? oAo;; It depends on whether or not I get my hands on Manga Studio EX. At best, you won't see anything until August.

For a general overview of what to expect, refer to the following FAQ. As always, feel free to note me with any questions/concerns/criticism/anything but spam you might have.

Otaku Battle FAQ
So... what should I expect, again?
> Much like any series serialized in Weekly JUMP before it is raepd! translated by ViZ, Otaku Battle is full of action and questionable humor; suitable for anyone in Japan over 13 and any American over the age of 16. That being said, people who are uncomfortable with explicit language, excessive violence, and/or adult themes should think twice before reading.

That's all fine and dandy, but what about the teenagers and 'uncomfortable' individuals who insist on reading it?
> Otaku Battle's rating will actually change on a case-by-case basis. One page may be PG (13+), the next, AO (18+). If I believe certain pages are too "mature" for Otaku Battle's intended audience, I will provide "clean" (censored) versions of these pages at or around the time of their release.

Is Otaku Battle really going to have yaoi in it? I'd love to read it, but yaoi's... well, gross.
> Yes, but I'm not going to shove it in your face. If a page features characters doing more than just alluding to it, you can just read the "clean" version of that page.

Anything else?
> Please do not expect me to release chapters on a regular basis; I will not hesitate to delay the release of a new chapter if other commitments (such as school) deem it necessary.

Fan Fiction
I cosplay both of the guys whose perspectives I plan to write from, and I still don't feel inspired but I can't find the time to write. Wonderful. >.<

Boy, does it feel good to be back.

*Takes a deep breath* Okay, long entry ahead. I've separated it into parts to make it easier for the lot of you to read.

Anime Boston
...was amazing. xDD I spent the week between my departure from Albany and the date of the con working non-stop. I somehow--SOMEHOW--managed to sew Kaku's tracksuit and Jotaro's outfit in that time. (Liquid Stitch was truly a godsend, though I can't see myself using the stuff as extensively on future projects.) As for Iruka, let's just say that purchasing things has always been one of my few cosplay specialties.

Of course, what's a great con without great company? <3 The well-prepared ~inudahentai made the trip there and back a real pleasure; ~Okasi-san, ~acidicness, ~Sky-too-high (and her brother), Kiwi, Co, and ~Tsure proved to be wonderful convention buddies (your The World Ends With You group was amazing!); and it was great seeing ~aikei-chan and ~alchemistofwind after god knows how long.

I saw a lot of really impressive cosplays there, as expected. There were more Touhou and Vocaloid cosplayers there than I thought there'd be, but I figured I'd see as many Soul Eater, Kuroshitsuji, and Axis Powers Hetalia cosplays as I did. Yep, aside from the astonishing lack of L cosplayers, everything seemed to be in order. xD

The One Piece photoshoot I attended on Saturday was incredible, easily the highlight of my weekend! There were so many people--Shichibukai, villains, a Gol D. Roger--why, there must have been ten Zoros with us at some point. THERE WAS EVEN A CP9 GROUP. @_@ I was OWNED humbled by their Sanji, Lucci, and Kaku: they literally looked like clones of the characters themselves. They even had their very own (and very much epic) Franky and Fukurou. ._. It made me wish I brought my Jyabura cosplay to AB. (They didn't actually have one. Go figure.)

I didn't do much at the con itself. I didn't even attend Saturday's Masquerade--cosplay took a lot out of me (and my feet) for some reason. x_x There's always next year, I suppose.

Because my parents told me to use my debit card, I only bought a handful of things in the Dealer's Room this year:
> KakaIru doujin (DUH),
> A Yukkuri shirt (I'm wearing it right now),
> A Shigure plushie (I promised myself I'd get one), and
> JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken DVD 1 (which means I now have the entire OVA on DVD)

...I would've liked to get Touhou 9: Phantasmagoria of the Flower View and Enzai, too. >>;; Oh well.

Otaku Battle
You heard it here, folks: Otaku Battle's release will go ahead as planned. Though nothing's set in stone, I hope to have the first chapter out by the middle of June. (Though I wish I didn't have a train to catch and numerous midterms to prepare for; what a way to spend a birthday! =/ Oh well, c'est la vie.)

WOOOOO~~ <3333

On another note, I got that tablet I asked for: expect to see the first chapter of Otaku Battle posted here before year's end.

---Time to pack! =3 Remind me to update this entry when I return to campus.

Update: Yosh! I'm back; time to tell you folks about my first two months of college.

> My classes are good. The teachers are quite reasonable, too--except for my Psychology 101 professor: boy, do I hate that pig-headed bastard him.

> I receive very little in the way of physical homework, I just have a ton of reading to do at any given time.

> Albany has an anime living-learning community where basically everyone who isn't a freshman in JA/M (the anime club) lives. Seriously, its residents are required to take a class where you watch (and discuss) anime--what anime fan in their right mind wouldn't want to live there?

> The Fencing Club is essentially JA/M with shiny, pointy things and ridiculously late tri-weekly meetings.

> The Guild (the quote-on-quote "gaming" club) is a misnomer; they only play Magic the Gathering and Munchkin.

On another note, [MAD] and Nico Nico have inspired a number of new Otaku Battle concepts, including (but not limited to):

- The Council hiring Takakazu Abe to be AM Island's resident sexual predator.
- The Vocaloids running AM Island's radio station.
- Airman being the most convenient bastard ever.
- Charging Konata with doing something productive.
- HELP ME, ERIN!
- Council-sponsored M.U.G.E.N. tournaments.
- "Nico Nico Douga Medley" as the Island's anthem.

The first chapter of Dasein is coming along; faster than expected (which is roughly equivalent to the speed of cold molasses in January), but slower than I'd like.

(I want to thank ~Kaylathegreat for being so patient with me--I'll do my best to have it out by week's end, okay?)

*Sighs* You know, it's times like these I wish I was still in sixth grade... back when I wasn't such a perfectionist. Those were the good old days; I miss being able to write and post an entire chapter in three hours.

I'm talking about The Fate of Three Worlds here, people. It was my first fanfic; as such, it sucked.

...How much? A lot. You needn't take my word for it, though. (For argument's sake, I'll [link] you to the first chapter. C'mon--you know you want to. >D)

Look on the bright side: at least I had the decency to complete it. DDDx (It's not like I've been able to finish anything else since then....)

On another, more positive note, a fair number of you seem interested in my fanfics---

Okay, maybe "interested" isn't the right word; according to my most recent poll, you seem more... ambivalent than anything else. Entirely my fault--I don't think I gave you the right information.

Well, that's what this entry's for. <333 Prepare to be enlightened:

1. Unfortunately, none of you seem interested in Resolute. I figured as much; most of you don't like One Piece in the first place. )=

I know--Kaku's weird-looking, Lucci's not, and I fail to find either of them attractive. I can't help it; I like my yaoi diverse. :3 (Most One Piece yaoi fans do--seriously, they'll ship Usopp (NOSE!), Chopper (BEAST!), Franky (ROBO!), or Brook (NECRO!) without batting an eye.)

Just don't come crying to me when you see 002/009 (Cyborg 009) yaoi and can't find any faults with it. (If you know what 002 looks like, you know what I'm talking about.)

2. Characteristic of Love is an old Kakashi/Iruka fic I planned to write back in '05. <3333 'Nuff said.

3. ...Kokoro no Oujisama.

*Headdesk* Oh boy. xx;; I dug my own grave with that one.

Don't hold your breath--I'll start it when I'm ready. Sorry.

4. If there's one fanfic I want you to read, it's Dasein. Jotaro/Kakyoin is... something of an old fangirl favorite. <D It has quite a history---

Yes, you heard (erm, read?) correctly: "history." You're probably wondering why I said that. x3

You see, CLAMP produced a lot of JoKakyo doujinshi in their earlier days: they loved the pairing. (~Kaylathegreat found the cover from one of them--an MPREG--ask nicely and maybe she'll show it to you. >3)

Question: Ever wonder why the nature of shonen-ai pairings in CLAMP series seemed relatively constant? Solemn, indifferent seme; effeminate uke... sounds an awful lot like Jotaro and Kakyoin.

Think about it. On second thought, don't--ever heard of Wish? You know, that series about the businessman who finds an angel stuck in a tree? CLAMP admitted that they based the main characters--the businessman and the angel--off of Jotaro and Kakyoin, respectively.

Ironically, JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken is one of the most shonen series I've ever seen (other than Hokuto no Ken); Araki's style is ridiculously detailed and... butch. Kind of.

Anyway, all I ask is that you give it a chance. Jotaro/Kakyoin is really quite normal compared to the sick, depraved things I (regrettably) tend to enjoy. It's similar to Hiei/Kurama, except the seme has a good seven inches on the uke and neither of them are demons. =w=

Comiket is a HUGE convention in Japan with four floors worth of Dealers' Rooms and 11,000 cosplayers. Now would you like to go?
